idu Software Achieves a Microsoft Silver Data Platform Competency

idu Software earns distinction through demonstrated technology success and customer commitment

Local accounting software company, idu Software, today announced it has achieved a Silver Data Platform competency, demonstrating its ability to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment. To earn a Microsoft silver competency, partners must successfully demonstrate expertise through rigorous exams, culminating in Microsoft certifications. And to ensure the highest quality of services, Microsoft requires customer references for successful implementation and customer satisfaction.

Idu Software simplifies financial management for non-financial managers. Its flagship product, idu-Concept, provides easy, effective budgeting and financial reporting for medium-sized to large businesses, including many of South Africa's top firms.

idu have been using Microsoft SQL Server integration services (SSIS) since the release of SQL Server version 7.0 in 1998 when it was known as Data Integration services. SSIS has proven valuable as a data integration tool due to it’s ability to handle heterogeneous data sources and sophisticated structured error handling.

“The .NET providers available to SSIS have allowed us to integrate with almost every ERP system that we encounter at our customers,” says Kevin Phillips, CEO of idu Software. “The SSIS designer is easy to use and it’s visual representation unparalleled to any comparative tools that we have encountered. SSIS packages are almost self-documenting due to the way data flows are represented to the user.”

“By achieving a silver competency, organisations have proven their expertise in specific technology areas, placing them among the top 5 percent of Microsoft partners worldwide,” said Phil Sorgen, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. “When customers look for an IT partner to meet their business challenges, choosing a company that has attained Microsoft competencies is a smart move. These are highly qualified professionals with access to Microsoft technical support and product teams.”

Attaining the Data Platform competency demonstrates partner expertise in some of Microsoft’s most in-demand products, including Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V. By using the complete platform from Microsoft, companies can extend their Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure in the cloud and meet the requirements of the most demanding mission-critical workloads, empowering their IT departments and enabling business insights. Equipped with exclusive training, the latest software and support, these partners provide their customers with data warehousing solutions that manage and help secure their critical data using cost-effective, flexible and high-performance applications.

idu Software Achieves a Microsoft Gold Application Development Competency

idu Software demonstrates best-in-class capability and market leadership through demonstrated technology success and customer commitment

Local accounting software company, idu Software, today announced it has attained a Gold Application Development competency, demonstrating a “best-in-class” ability and commitment to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment and distinguishing itself within the top 1 percent of Microsoft’s partner ecosystem.

To earn a Microsoft gold competency, partners must successfully complete exams (resulting in Microsoft Certified Professionals) to prove their level of technology expertise, and then designate these certified professionals uniquely to one Microsoft competency, ensuring a certain level of staffing capacity. They also must submit customer references that demonstrate successful projects (along with implementing a yearly customer satisfaction study), meet a revenue commitment (for most gold competencies), and pass technology and/or sales assessments.

“The Microsoft Application Development Gold competency highlights our company’s commitment to the Microsoft Development platform,” says idu Software CEO Kevin Phillips. “Through this competency we highlight our resolution to deliver the highest quality software through our ability to leverage the latest Microsoft technologies as well as making use of the latest features and development practices on the Microsoft platform.”

This competency allows idu Software to showcase their commitment to ensuring that their developers attain, and improve upon, the expertise necessary to develop and continuously deliver quality software products that are flexible, optimised and scalable in order to meet their clients’ needs in an increasingly complex and interconnected environment of devices and data.

“By achieving a gold competency, partners have demonstrated the highest, most consistent capability and commitment to the latest Microsoft technology,” said Phil Sorgen, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. “These partners have a deep expertise that puts them in the top 1 percent of our partner ecosystem, and their proficiency will help customers drive innovative solutions on the latest Microsoft technology.”

Earning the Application Development competency helps partners differentiate themselves as a trusted expert to their customers through development and deployment of commercial or custom applications built using core Microsoft technologies like Windows Server and Windows 8 operating systems, the Windows Azure platform, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 development system, Microsoft BizTalk Server and emerging cloud-based and web business models. By gaining access to a comprehensive set of benefits through the Application Development competency, partners can acquire new customers and help them be more productive and profitable through deployment of business applications, advanced web portals or rich client user interfaces that run on premises or in the cloud.
